That's me back in 2007 setting up for the closing of our second gallery show - Uniformity In Diversity by photographers Anna Keenan, Alexis Finch and Moses Kofi. No one else knew of the burden that I was carrying with me that evening - that Moja was getting ready to close it's doors for good... I put on a good face and hosted my last gallery show. Had I known then what I know now, I don't think this picture would have captured me looking quite so serious.
What I do know now is that I'm getting ready to open my second Cafe/Gallery in downtown Toronto! I can't wait for you all to see it and join me in celebrating all of the amazing artists that Toronto is filled with! I've grown a lot over the years and I can't wait for you to see what comes next!
Here are a few memories from the very first Moja Tea Gallery...

Located on Adelaide st. in the heart of Toronto, we had a great view and a ton of fun!

That's our resident bassist, my nephew Immanuel and singer/songwriter Saidah Baba Talibah all hangin' out at the grand opening...

Our Graffiti Wall East was painted by Elicser Elliott

Graffiti Wall West painted by Dig Dug (Doug Girard)
The walls stayed the same for 3 months. Every month different artists using different mediums would come through to have a show.
I love tea and all of the things that it represents. It's a beautiful way to bring people together and of course keeps the mood serene.

My garden! miss it sooo much... I grew mint and basil and even bluegrass!!

The bathroom was complete chalk walls, and every one left us beautiful notes, thanks y'all! And for those of you who didn't realize, Toronto's very own Graph Nobel gave us a few of her art pieces to hang.
Here are some of the artists who were a part of Moja Tea Gallery...
